Northern Dalmatia

The Northern Dalmatia region is located on the middle of Croatian seashore, south from Kvarner bay and north from Trogir. The largest and the most important town is Zadar, a city with great cultural and historic heritage. Other important historic cities in the region are Nin, Biograd and Šibenik, which is the oldest city on the Adriatic founded by Croats. Besides the cultural and the historic attractions, Northern Dalmatia has a unique treasures of natural beauty in form of 3 national parks: Paklenica, Krka and Kornati.
Major tourist destinations in the region are Zadar, Nin, Petrčane, Biograd, Šibenik, Vodice, Primošten, Murter and Rogoznica. The most important islands are Dugi otok (Long island), Pašman, Ugljan, Silba, Murter and the most beautiful archipelago in the Adriatic - the Kornati islands.
